Job Description:

Propane Delivery Driver

Propane Delivery Driver is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient propane deliveries along with tank sets and gas line installations in compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.

The Propane Delivery Driver will also be required to assist Mud Lake Telephone construction operations during non-peak propane seasons.

Responsibilities

Propane Delivery
• Safely operate and maintain delivery vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations.

• Deliver propane to residential and commercial customers according to established schedules.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any issues.

• Accurately complete delivery documentation including logs and receipts.

• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and address any customer inquiries or concerns.
Tank Setting and Gas Line Installation

• Install, remove, and maintain propane tanks of various sizes (above-ground and underground).

• Lay and secure gas lines, ensuring proper connections and leak-free operations.

• Conduct site evaluations to ensure compliance with safety standards and customer needs.

• Perform pressure tests and safety checks on gas systems.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to propane tanks and gas lines.
Support for Broadband Installation

• Assist Mud Lake Telephone, as needed, with outside plant construct ion tasks related to the installation of fiber optic cable for broadband services.

• Perform duties such as trenching, conduit placement, and fiber optic cable installation, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

• Collaborate with team members to coordinate the efforts and meet project deadlines.

Safety and Compliance

• Adhere to all company safety polices and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to propane delivery, tank installation, and gas line installation.

• Respond to emergencies, such as leaks or outages, in a timely and professional manner.

Job Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with HazMat and Tanker endorsements.

• Valid Idaho Propane Dealer’s License (or ability to obtain one prior to employment).

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in propane delivery, gas system installation, or a related field preferred.

• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and NFPA 58 regulations governing propane delivery and storage.

• Ability to operate propane delivery equipment safely and efficiently.

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot gas system issues.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.

• Basic computer skills for completing electronic logs and documentation.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

• Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and DOT physical exam.
The Propane Deliver Driver is expected to adhere to all company safety, cybersecurity, and personnel policies to ensure a secure and productive work environment.

This includes following established safety protocols while working with equipment, complying with cybersecurity standards to protect sensitive network infrastructure and data, and maintaining professionalism in all interactions.

The driver will also participate in ongoing training to stay current with safety and cybersecurity best practices, as well as ensure compliance with company policies regarding confidentiality, conduct, and reporting.
